Care only works if you can reach it.

We are building community-supported clinics that make real care accessible.

The Reality

Primary care is supposed to be your medical home—the place that keeps you well and catches problems early.

But most people can’t experience it that way.

Visits are rushed.

Questions go unanswered.

It takes months to be seen again.

Care becomes fragmented.

What Actually Works

There is a better way—and it’s already working.

Direct Primary Care removes the barriers that don’t belong in the exam room, giving doctors the time and freedom to care for the person in front of them.

It restores the relationship at the center of medicine.

At Unorthodoc, PLLC, we’ve practiced this way for over a decade—as Direct Primary Care has grown from about 50 clinics to more than 3,000 nationwide.

The Missing Piece

But even when care works, many people still can’t reach it.

Access is the intervention.

Great doctors can’t be great doctors if you can’t get to them.

That’s the problem no one has solved at scale.

What We’re Building

The Unorthodoc Foundation exists to solve that problem.

We are building community-supported primary care clinics—locally rooted, sustainably funded, and designed to expand access without compromising care.

Not charity.

Not insurance.

A structure that allows communities to make high-quality care possible.

How It Works

  • Communities come together to support a clinic
  • Physicians practice without the usual constraints
  • Patients receive accessible, relationship-based care
  • The model is refined and repeated in new communities

Why This Matters

When primary care works, everything else in healthcare works better.

When it doesn’t, care becomes more fragmented, more expensive, and more impersonal. We already know how to fix the care. Now we’re building a way to extend it.

We may be a 501c(3) non-profit organization but don’t call us a charity.

This is community-supported care. It respects dignity, encourages participation, and strengthens primary care at the same time. We intend to avoid endless outside fundraising. More than 3000 active Direct Primary Care clinics now exist across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. They sprung up over the past decade without government or corporate dollars. And the Foundation hopes to grow the same way.

That’s why we want this to become a replicable model, not just a single clinic. Together we can rebuild the foundation of healthcare starting with primary care – the literal heart of healthcare.
